[Bottle collection in the caves]

Bottle collection in the caves
Amboise, France, 9/28/1998
(c) 1998, Andrew Sigal

This is one of my earliest digital photographs, taken with an early Kodak DC260. It was shot in the caves of a winery I was touring near the town of Amboise in France’s Loire valley. Sadly, the wines weren’t very good, but the winery tour was fun. The walls of the caves had been carved out with shelves, which were lined with hundreds of old bottles. Everything was damp and moist, and the caves were quite dark. I can never quite decide how I feel about the flash’s reflections in this photo. Sometimes they bother me, other times not. I’d like to try this photo again with a better camera as I still like this image.
