The tree ferns of New Zealand are very beautiful plants. The imagery of the native Maori people is full of ferns, with the fiddlehead representing creation, birth, fertility, and the protection of children.
Here, the bronze hairs of the fiddlehead contrast nicely with the blue-gray arms of the mature leaves to create what I consider to be a striking picture.
