As I’ve mentioned before, I love images of ferns. They are truly nature’s fractals. Unfortunately, it can be very hard to get into a spot where you can really look down onto the crown of a giant tree fern. This one is courtesy of the Botanic Gardens in Hobart. There one can find a pleasant tree fern collection with a sloping walkway that makes it possible (though still not easy) to shoot directly down into a tree fern. Thus, this exciting patterned photo. I only wish it had been possible for me to clean some of the pine needles out of the center of the fern before shooting.
