[Church of San Francisco de Asis]

Church of San Francisco de Asis
Rancho Del Taos, New Mexico, USA, 9/22/2001
(c) 2001, Andrew Sigal

There is something special about the colors in New Mexico. The adobe buildings, the red earth, the blue sky - it is all so beautiful. This church in Rancho Del Taos, about 9 miles south of Taos, New Mexico is a classic of adobe architecture with its smooth, sensuous hand made curves, the lovely shade of tan, and the way the minerals in the clay reflect the light. I was particularly taken with the shadows falling over the building, and the contrast between the colors of the wall and the sky.
