This is my other favorite shot from the mother’s day celebration in Surin. The colorful clothes, the way the little girl reclines against her mother, the drinking straw in her hand and the shadow it casts, the angles of her body, the patterns on the bark of the tree, the lights and shadows all contribute to a feeling of relaxed energy I see in this shot. It makes me think of the Tai Chi ideal of dynamic relaxation.
