Tip #6: Carry earplugs and an eye mask

You never know when the hotel you're booked into is going to be a bomb. I've found myself in rooms that were above discotheques, and places where giant spotlights on the building light up the room like it was midday. Having earplugs and an eye mask has allowed me to sleep in circumstances that would otherwise have been intolerable.
