[Angkor Wat through the trees]

Angkor Wat through the trees
Phnom Bakheng, Siem Reap, Cambodia, 12/22/2000
(c) 2000, Andrew Sigal

One of the great photos to take of Angkor Wat is this one, shot from the top of a nearby hill named Phnom Bakheng. In the evening the colors become quite beautiful, and there are a number of interesting photo opportunities. I like this framing of Angkor Wat, as it clearly illustrates that this truely is a temple in the jungle, and the jungle would be quite happy to swallow it up again. It makes me feel like I am sneaking a glimpse of this far-off city of mystery.
